There is, however, one ugly spot on the canvas.
I refer to the congestion of calendars and the general
bedevilment of the judicial process caused in large
measure by the fact that thousands upon thousands
of lawsuits are brought by people who know they have
no just claim but who hope to frighten or badger those
whom they sue into a settlement.
This is morally wrong and we lawyers and judges must
do what we can to put a stop to it.
